Where favorite music and audio dramas were once played from cassettes and mixtapes, modern ways of enjoying audio content are now delighting listeners.
Music from CDs
CDs remain very popular. The integrated CD player supports traditional audio CDs as well as CD-R and CD-RW formats. MP3 CDs can also be played.
Music via Bluetooth
Audio content can be streamed wirelessly to the DIGITRADIO 1990 via Bluetooth. Perfect for playlists or audio dramas that parents access through their smartphones using major streaming services such as Spotify.*

Music via USB
Anyone who has MP3 audio files stored on a USB stick can connect the storage device via the USB interface on the DIGITRADIO 1990 and play music and audio dramas directly on the device.
Tip: Other devices, such as smartphones or music players, can also be charged via the USB port.
Music via AUX-IN
An additional audio source, such as an MP3 player, can also be connected via the AUX-IN input.
Compact and always ready to go
The DIGITRADIO 1990 can be taken anywhere quickly and easily using its carrying handle – and thanks to optional battery operation, even on trips. While it is not miniature in size, it remains compact for a device in this sound class.
Cool alarm functions for schoolchildren
In addition to information about the current radio programme or CD track, the built-in display also shows the time. And because the DIGITRADIO 1990 includes an alarm function, it is perfectly suited as a radio alarm clock for schoolchildren. Another great feature: the sleep timer automatically switches off the DIGITRADIO 1990 in the evening after the desired period of time.

A first radio experience for kids
Listening to the radio is great fun with the DIGITRADIO 1990 Benjamin Blümchen Edition. Children gain their first experience using a modern digital radio device. The DIGITRADIO 1990 receives all digital DAB+ radio programmes available in the reception area as well as analogue FM stations. There are now even more stations whose programmes are specifically aimed at younger listeners.
Children don't care about sound quality?
No, definitely not. Children also want songs and audio dramas to sound really good. That's why the DIGITRADIO 1990 features two built-in stereo speakers, and the sound can be adjusted using the preset equaliser options.
