From an entrepreneurial idea to a successful family business
When Peter Lepper (†) founded TechniSat in Daun in the Eifel in 1987, it began with an entrepreneurial idea and the ambition to develop innovative technology for people. From these beginnings, TechniSat Digital GmbH has grown into a successful medium-sized family business with several locations. Today, TechniSat stands for high-quality consumer electronics such as digital radios and televisions, innovative reception technology, and solutions and services for business customers in the EMS sector. TechniSat combines many years of experience and its own development and manufacturing expertise with the ambition of making good technology easy to use and accessible to people – and remains closely connected to its roots in Daun in the Eifel to this day.
TechniSat Digital GmbH is a company of the LEPPER Stiftung e.S., founded by Peter and Doris G. Lepper. Within its defined statutory purposes, the LEPPER Stiftung is particularly committed to education, science and research, as well as public health and care.

Introduction of the first flat antenna, TechniSat SATENNE with an edge length of 38 cm for receiving satellite TV Sat 2.

Founding of TechniSat Vogtland GmbH in Schöneck.

TechniSat signs a worldwide exclusive contract with star designer Prof. Luigi Colani for the famous Colani TV design. Presentation of the first TechniSat digital receiver DigiCom 1.

Digital terrestrial television (DVB-T) starts in Berlin and Brandenburg. TechniSat produces DVB-T receivers of the type TechniSat DigiPal 1 in Schöneck, in Saxon Vogtland. Continuing to be visionary in TV reception: With the HD Vision, TechniSat developed and produced the world's first series-ready HDready LCD TV with multi-reception tuner.

The first TechniSat audio player for children – the TECHNIFANT – is here. TechniSat enters the electromobility sector and begins development, production, and distribution of innovative wallboxes “Made in Germany” under the brand “TechniVolt”.

Market launch of the DIGITRADIO 650, TechniSat’s most versatile and powerful digital radio so far. A top-class music system. TechniSat is market leader in DAB+ radios.

In summer, the high-end Smart TV TECHNIVISTA UHD CL with Mini-LED technology and integrated soundbar is released.

The first TechniSat DAB+ Digital with ASA warning system, the DIGITRADIO 3 ASA, comes to market. Thanks to the innovative “Automatic Safety Alert (ASA)” technology, the population can be reliably informed in emergencies via certified DAB+ radios.
