Frequently Asked Questions About Our Smart TVs

A Smart TV offers you greater flexibility. In addition to classic linear TV, you gain access to media libraries, streaming services, and apps. Even if you mostly watch live TV, TechniSat Smart TVs are a great choice – offering excellent picture quality, modern technology, and intuitive controls. You can also record free-to-air broadcasts to a USB drive. And if you ever decide to explore streaming, you’re already set with almost any TechniSat Smart TV model.
LED TVs use backlighting with LEDs to display images. MiniLED uses much smaller LEDs, resulting in better contrast and brightness. OLED does not require backlighting; each pixel emits its own light, producing perfect blacks and high contrast. OLED is ideal for dark environments and movie nights. MiniLED is better for bright rooms and has lower risk of burn-in.

Our goal is simplicity. The initial setup guides you step-by-step through the process. A channel list manager ensures everything is organized and keeps channel lists up to date with ease.
Our Smart TVs include HDMI ports, USB ports, and audio outputs for soundbars or other external audio devices. Some models also support SCART via an adapter. Check the “Connections” section in the technical specifications to see what's included. We and our dealers are happy to assist.

It depends on your seating distance. A general rule of thumb: screen size (in inches) × 2.5 = optimal viewing distance in cm. For a 55" screen, that’s about 2.1 meters. With 4K (Ultra HD), you can sit closer for a more immersive experience.
Most current TechniSat TVs feature an integrated Wi-Fi module, allowing you to connect your TV to your home network via Wi-Fi. Alternatively, you can connect your TechniSat smart TV to your home network using an Ethernet cable, just like your computer. Additionally, many models allow you to connect your smartphone to the TV, enabling you to, for example, display your photos on the big screen.

HDR (High Dynamic Range) enhances contrast, color, and brightness for more lifelike images. It adjusts content dynamically and offers a major upgrade, especially for movies, series, and gaming.
Absolutely. You can use a Smart TV without internet for traditional broadcasts via cable, satellite, or antenna, and for Blu-ray players or game consoles. However, features like streaming apps, media libraries, and software updates require an internet connection. To access all features, we recommend a stable Wi-Fi or LAN connection.
