Ground Installation

Ground installation is a less common method of mounting, in which the DigitalSat antenna is installed on the ground using a special ground mount, typically on a concrete foundation.
The advantage of this solution lies in the easy accessibility of the DigitalSat antenna as well as the minimal space required.

Option 1
Installation using a bolt-on mast or a mast embedded directly into a concrete foundation.

Option 2
Flexible solution using a mount that is, for example, weighted down with concrete paving slabs.

The mini DigitalSat antennas from TechniSat (DIGIDISH/SATMAN 33/45) are ideally suited for balcony installation. Due to their compact size, the DigitalSat antenna does not disrupt the visual appearance of the building façade.
Using an optional balcony stand, these small systems can be easily installed and discreetly placed on the balcony. When installing the antenna on a balcony, ensure that there are no obstacles—such as roof overhangs or large trees—interfering with signal reception.

Cable Routing
The antenna cable is routed from the DigitalSat antenna into the house in the same way as with wall mounting, by drilling a hole of the appropriate size into the masonry.
Care must be taken to ensure that the antenna cable(s) are arranged in such a way that rainwater running along the cable does not enter the masonry.
To achieve this, the cable should be laid so that it forms a downward U-shaped loop—commonly referred to as a “drip loop”—before entering the masonry. This has the advantage that water collects at the lowest point of the “U” and drips off, preventing it from seeping into the wall.
Note: Grounding may be required
With regard to lightning protection and grounding, DIN EN 60728-11 also applies in
this case. Grounding is not required as long as the antenna is installed no more
than 1.5 metres from the house and at least 2 metres below the roof edge. Please
