Das LNB eignet sich für alle Antennenschüsseln mit 40-mm-Feedaufnahme und dient der Umsetzung von TV-, Radio- und Multimediaangeboten, die über Satellit ausgestrahlt werden.
Das LNB verfügt über acht Ausgänge, von denen jeder direkt mit einem Empfangsgerät (Sat-Receiver oder Smart-TV) verbunden werden kann. Alle Empfangsgeräte sind in der Wahl ihrer Programme unabhängig, da an jedem der acht LNB-Ausgänge die Signale des gesamten Empfangsbereichs anliegen. Am Universal-Octo-LNB können ohne weiteres auch vier Twin-Receiver anstelle von acht Einzelgeräten angeschlossen werden.
Durch seine Bauart ist das Universal-Octo-LNB gegen Störungen durch LTE-Mobilfunk geschützt .
