The indoor siren uses the Z-Wave wireless standard for communication with a compatible Z-Wave central unit. The siren sounds an alarm in response to specific, user-defined events. For example, the siren can be triggered when a window or door secured with a door contact sensor is opened. A siren alarm can also be set to sound if a smoke detector in the house detects smoke. The siren will also sound if an unauthorized person attempts to remove or tamper with it. The indoor siren is powered via a USB power adapter. In the event of a power outage, the integrated backup battery provides the necessary power.
